The beef seemed to be either rump or round and not brisket
This place was interesting to us, as we were told this was Saigon style-Cantonese food.
We came here at early lunch time.
The char siu (叉燒) and side soup were pretty bland. We have tried char siu at a few places now, but the roasting style, sauce and cut of pork seem quite different than to which we are accustomed.
The HK beef noodle soup (香港牛腩面秘) had a unique taste, not the same as you would have in Sheung Wan so we assume this is a Vietnamese variation.
We actually liked the different taste of the beef noodle soup, but later, we had mild food poisoning. Having had beef noodle soup many times in many places in HK, Taipei and Singapore, to get ill from eating was a bit disappointing. Perhaps they used too many flavor enhancers or the beef was old. The beef seemed to be either rump or round and not brisket.
